running in shorts and SUAR shirt

It's been a nice week of weather here. Warm and sunny. Why, today, it was so warm and sunny that I just had to go for a run after work.

Dressed like this. Squinting into the bright sun. There is a little bit of snow, here and there, but nothing to speak of. Sidewalks are essentially bare and dry.

Shorts. Short sleeved tech shirt. On Feb 3. The weather page said 5 at the airport, but the water was freezing over even in the sun, so I guess it was a few degrees above 0 C (maybe 35 F) and no wind. Very nice.

Ran easy about 40 minutes or so, just seeing if I could remember how to do this. The only part of me that was even slightly cold were my hands. My legs and feet felt really good after, but no reason they shouldn't.

Then when I got back, I had enough tim to stretch and change, then sit down to this. Duck leg. Life is good. There's wine there too, of course, Bush Vine Grenache.

  2. I couldn't NOT run tonight. So warm. And tomorrow is going to be 12!!! (53 F) Pity I'm going to be spending a couple hours at the car dealership in the wasteland of the NE. Maybe I should run again when I get home.

  3. I intend to run a 3k, probably sometime in the afternoon as it's about the only free time available.

  4. Nice! We actually got about a foot of snow around here (I'm not far from SUAR, although I've never seen her in real life. I don't know what I'd do, probably something embarrassing because it would be like meeting a celebrity). So I didn't run. I did go for a walk in the blizzard down the road to get a beer. Because that's how I roll.

  5. Meeting a blog buddy for the first time is neat and a bit weird all at once. In one sense the person is a stranger in that you've never seen them before. Yet (in the athlete world anyways) you know all sorts of amazing things about that person. Some of the people I've met through blogging have become really good friends I don't see often enough. I'm not sure how I'd react meeting Beth in person, or Steve in a speedo, or Liz, who are arguably the most famous people on my blog roll that I haven't met yet, but I suspect it would be fun.

  6. A day without wind is a perfect day, IMO. Even if it's cold. Glad you hand no wind AND sun! AND duck. Yum!

  7. It was a great end to a really odd day at work. My office roomie was sick, and I got caught up with two buddies, and they didn't give me any real work to speak of.
