Jasper 6, the reflections

One of my photographic rules of thumb is that a reflection doesn't make a photo twice as good, it makes it  ten times as good. Well, mostly. But without the reflections these would just be rocks and trees and water. We had great light and no wind, so it was perfect for this. Portal Lake, just on the Alberta BC border near Jasper.

Flower

And a flower serendipity from 2017, I think.

And a Curtis serendipity! I thought I'd blogged all the photos of him, but that's not what my tagging system says. Even if it has been blogged before, I don't think there will be any complaints.

Linda working the very beginnings of the front flower boxes. I'd just finished building them, and Linda can't wait to get the flowers going. I hadn't yet built the boxes between the house and the car. As an aside, that is the best car I've ever owned. If I could buy a brand new one of those now, I'd totally do it. Even if it didn't have heated seats, or one of the never to be sufficiently damned 'infotainment' screens.

Jasper 5, the morning photos

We start with me out for a morning walk. I hadn't slept all that well, and was happy to have a bit of me time, and explore the places for coffee and treats. I think I've mentioned that Linda and I were in Jasper during a vacation back in the late 80's or so, and I had no memory of it, other than buying a wool jacket. Part of the wander was to get some fresh air, and see if anything sparked a memory. Not.

These are pretty much vacation snapshots, there I was and this is what I saw. But bear with me, there's some gorgeous mountain photos at the end. And maybe you've never seen Jasper before. It's lovely, and much less commercial than Banff. In nice weather it's less than a 5 hour drive from home, so maybe I'll have to make another trip there.

And a Yukon as a serendipity! That happens sometimes. The shafts of light really captured my attention. There and gone a moment later.

Kodak Gold 200. I like how the reds show up.

Linda's mom. Look at those eyes, and you'll never wonder where Linda got the gimlet eye from. For once it wasn't me with the camera.
