Here I am, almost 24 hours into a major photo ramble. A few of us joined Neil in Calgary, and took the scenic route to Cypress Hills. The big fail was not getting video of the savage rogue washing machine attack, even though Neil said to video it because it was obvious it was going to happen. Only swift and decisive action by our fearless leader saved us all. The guy who lost control of the washing machine never even stopped.
We stopped at the Brooks Siphon. The outside is obvious, the inside is less so.
I was loving the wide open skies and endless views. Once arrived we hung out and did a meet and greet. Dinner and poetry with dinner was wonderful. There was a sunset shoot, and some star shots from the ranch. Then a short drive to a lovely overlook for a sunrise shoot. Breakfast is soon.
What is missing from that, at least for me? I'm already behind on editing. No, really, I was lying down for a little bit, but not really asleep.
Linda said she was going to run a pool for how many photos taken. Contact her if you want in on the action.
From the wet weekend, the muckle plum tree.
A tulip. Don't ask which variety.
Driftwood of the Day
The dampness made for some lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteIn my course we are encouraged to “go deeper” when we look, think and comment on a photo. So, for better or for worse you get more babbling. As well the word tension has been recurring this past week, so it too infuses my comments.
ReplyDeleteThe subject matter, colour, composition, and moisture in the muckle branch image all contribute to a pleasing sense of oriental rebirth. The petals at the bottom are too close to the border, and provide a tension (unbalanced disquiet) that detracts from the image’s serenity, which would be more complete if the branch had more space around it. Cheers, Sean
