Tree, light, lines, sky

The light look promising, so I was off to find a place with a nice northern exposure, and hoped the clouds would be good. I strolled along a closed path going east from the Glenmore Sailing School. This tree happened pretty quickly, and I got it coming and going, trying to get it looking nice in front of the clouds.

I was thinking about composition here, but I'm not sure how well anything around the reservoir is working with the new lens. It's a big empty space already, and the wide angle just makes it look bigger and emptier. There's a bit of wind sculpting happening, and some tracks made by brave people, but it isn't interesting in of itself. At least I wasn't able to make it interesting.

Add some trees, some leading lines pointing to dramatic skies, and things change. I think. What do you think?
