Not only is it the only covered bridge in New Brunswick painted red, it's the only covered bridge thats painted at all. The point of building a structure over the bridge was to protect the bridge itself. I'm thinking that the actual weather covering was replaced as needed. Once you start painting, you have to carry on as you replace boards. I confess I have no idea how they paint the middle of the sides.
We started at Wolfe Beach, (photos to come later) and worked our way back to the bridge.

4. The view from the window upstream. I talked to some parks staff that were doing some drone surveys and they said this is the driest they've ever seen this river. Normally you wouldn't see any gravel, and the trees would be a riot of colour.

I am surprised that New Brunswick has only 1 covered bridge. I some how thought the number would be higher. In 15 I like that Michelle's foot is off the ground. 16 captures my attention. I might consider cropping out the background on the far left as I find it distracting. The image of the rose (17) has really nice depth, and there are lots of places for eyes to wander in that image. Cheers
ReplyDeleteIn fact there are 57 covered bridges in New Brunswick. This is the only one that's painted. The online documentation says 58, but one burned quite recently.
