All of these night photos were taken in Kouchibouguac National Park, mostly on the boardwalk to Kelly's beach. A couple in the parking lot, and a couple on the beach itself. The first three were done on the first evening expedition, when there was only a tiny window between sunset and moonrise. The overnight clouds did not cooperate very well. We only had a couple cloudless nights.
My thought was to set up in the lee of the dunes and let the camera run. I was so disappointed to find they had removed the pair of red chairs. It would have been nice to settle in and relax as the camera did all the work.
The other disappointment was how not-dark it was. Even well after sunset there is still a lot of man-made light on the horizon with the resulting glow in the atmosphere on what I thought would be the main composition. I ended up trying lots of different compositions.
1. I had fun playing with different compositions for this beach sculpture. If I'd planned better I could have had a sequence of photos with the moon in different positions as it rose. Alas. I didn't know the sculpture was there till too late.
4. A stacked image, loving the aircraft lights reflected in the water.

Why ever didn't I publish this, and maybe I did
Perhaps because it was overshadowed by what turned out to be 2021 Image of the Year.
