Didn't have to wait long for the other shoe

Amelia isn't normally that vocal. Sigh.

You'll be happy to know I double checked to make sure I was wearing swim gear before leaving the house. Still, I think I must have been wearing a parachute or something. I was still feeling tired going into the pool, so I figured I'd have a nice relaxing swim. I'm glad I knew I was going to be slow, and had made up my mind I didn't care what my time was.

1000 m 20:50
10 min core

I felt like an arthritic geezer. But it was ok since I was trying to stretch out and swim relaxed. At the end my heart rate was lower zone 2. What was interesting was the guy who joined the next lane part way through. At first I thought he was going the other way because all I saw was a trail of bubbles. Then he passed me. At first I thought I should pick it up and chase him, but decided not, and just as well. After my swim I was chatting with the lifeguard, and timed him. 50 m in 42 seconds arms only, steady, no breaks. whoosh.

High hopes for run tomorrow, going to bed early.

  1. You have to love animals -- mine have me trained. If I try to sleep in,I hear about it: Barking and meowing and jumping all over the bed.

At least you got a swim in -- it's better than missing a workout,eh? I think I know the reason you felt sluggish-- that dude in the other lane stole your inner shark for that workout!!

  2. sluggish is good, it means you are working my friend. hang in there. good on ya for completing your swim (with an envious 1000m time i might add).

as for the bubbles from the other was likely he was farting. :)

  3. Your cat's name is Amelia? That's the best name ever!

I like to call it a relaxing swim not slugglish just chill.

  4. We've always had cats with interesting names. In order, Sebastian (the best cat ever!) Thorin, Nefertiti, Amelia, Bernard. Everybody up to Amelia has passed on to the catnip fields. Bernard applied for the head cat job in a friend's household, and started that job a while ago, and is very happy there. Amelia is much happier about it too.

As for the bubbles, do you think this is some legitimate form of jet propulsion?

  5. I just love your blogs!! Got to get it done even when it feels crappy.
