Storm season

This time of year is storm season in Calgary. The usual pattern is a morning with clear skies, becoming warm to hot into the afternoon, as the clouds slowly gather. Then there might be some rain or a thunderstorm during late afternoon to early evening, then a nice evening.

These storms can be quite localized, and there are people who like chasing them. I can see the attraction, some of the cloudscapes are amazing. Get too close, or zig when you should have zagged while careening down gravel roads, and you might have a big problem.

Last night, just before sunset Linda was outside tending her garden and told me there was a lovely cloud off to the east. I grabbed the camera.

2. This panorama would print out about 3 feet x not quite 2 feet.

3. You might need to look carefully at this series of 3 images to see what I found interesting. The people on the right side got a great view.

10, Earlier in the month, this was the scariest looking, but it came to nothing.

13. Not storm clouds, but sunset drama clouds. Just because I'm doing clouds today.
