Words aren't normally a problem

But here I am, wrestling with the words on two separate blogs. Normally words slide out of my fingers and onto the page without a lot of effort. Then a bit of tweaking and polishing, add some photos, and a blog is sent forth into the world. Or maybe the photos come first, then the words.

There's words in those draft blogs. They even clump together in sentences and paragraphs. They almost make sense and go together, but I'm not happy with them. There's no flow. They don't express what I'm thinking.

What that usually means is that my thinking isn't clear. The "Danielle Smith is an idiot wasting taxpayer time and money!" part is clear. Everything after that is the problem. One respected writing process is to barf it all out and edit. Let's just say there was lots of barfing, and the editing isn't going well.

So as you might guess, you can look forward to a political rant sometime soon. And my blog-versary is coming up in a few days. 19 years of blogging. No idea what I'll say about it.

Sometimes giving it a rest brings clarity. Not so far. Yesterday afternoon was a lovely walk along the Glenmore Reservoir. The water was calm, the light was nice, it was warm and quiet. Even if I hadn't found any photos it would have been a wonderful time.

1. Another view of the famous H.

2. There was lots of driftwood in the water.

8. I've been through this little space when the water is much lower, and it's not nearly so interesting.

12. Have you notice that I love reflection photos? I had to wait for a couple people to get out of my photo.

13. For a while I was quite taken with photos of benches and showing the view from the bench. But this is the first time I've taken a photo of obviously not a bench.

14. Another view of where I was walking.

So this seems to have turned out to be a case of where there's photos the words will come.

The traffic before and after the walk was hideous. There isn't a blizzard so of course there's construction everywhere. Too many people feel entitled to get all road rage about it, which leads to altogether too many emergency vehicles attending to someone who has had their day ruined. The whole afternoon was sirens.

Tai Chi class is quiet, at least. I'm having fun struggling with it, and the teacher says I'm doing well. A couple of times I've found the flow.

I've always been a bit of a loner, and with what the world is doing lately I totally get why people go to silent retreats.

I gave you lots of photos to look at, so I'll give the Of the Day feature a rest. It will return.
