There was a good crowd

The gallery opening at cSpace for the SAIT darkroom exhibit went very well! Most of my darkroom class showed up so it was nice to chat with them. I'd seen a few of their prints, but some were new to me. I liked watching people move along the walls, pausing to look at prints. Some prints got a longer look. I saw several of the artists posing with their work for family and friends. I tried not to lurk around mine, waiting to pounce on anyone expressing interest.

I thought about taking the camera along but decided I wanted to be part of the event, mixing and milling with the crowd. If I were carrying a camera, I'd be in the mindset of documenting the event, not participating. However, I did take one iPhone photos, just because. This is a good sample of the crowd.

Here's a photo of my print, deliberately done so as to capture a hint of a selfie reflection.

If anyone wants to see the print in person, along with the other darkroom prints, the exhibit is open till March 1. Hours are Monday to Saturday, 8 to 8.

Some of you may have noticed I fired up my Instagram account and put up a photo of me and the print, partly to publicize the event and partly to link to the other darkroom participants. I am unsure how active I'll be on Instagram. I still dislike the photo format and the advertising. Today turns out to be my one month chip in my vacation from Facebook. Even knowing there are several apps to manage the experience, I think if an app is so bad it needs 3rd party assistance to render it palatable, it's better to do with out.

There's a fun bit of artwork at the gallery.

Of the Day
Driftwood (NZ)

Film
The accidental experiment where I found out what happens when you expose colour film with a yellow filter on the lens. I kind of think I've blogged others in this series, but maybe I just missed tagging this one.

Linda and two of the sisters.

Newfoundland
Baker's Brook Falls, as a regular exposure.

Polar bears

Why ever didn't I publish this, and maybe I did.
