So, 5 weeks and flirting with the devil

There. I chose to log into FB and look at the one thing I was interested in. The rest is no better than it used to be. Logged out again after about 10 minutes. I don't plan on logging back in any time soon.

Technically I broke my FB sobriety just after the 5 week chip. But that's ok. If I stay out of it for a while I'll be pretty sure that while FB has done their best to make it addictive, I can do without it. Maybe if they fixed it so it showed me the things I signed up to see, fact checked the political posts, got rid of the spammers and fraud artists, and cracked down on the people using it to traffic stolen goods, I'd consider using it again.

The other thing that broke is the intense cold snap. Overnight we went from well below zero to above. The streets are rivers as the ice melts. Our community association skating event on Saturday happened, but the ice was just barely good enough. I suspect if I were to go look at it today (which would have been Sunday) it would be a lake. With another week of warm weather coming along, I'm pretty sure outdoor skating is done for the year.

The not blogged in 90 days folder is getting kind of thin. I really must get out and take one of the cameras for a walk soon. This one was the view from the bottom of the driveway at minus WTF.

  1. Glad to hear you've warmed up - so have we...and the ice and snow are starting to melt (yay). Love, love, love the sunset pic. And your previous post, the polar bears, if you scroll really fast through the pics, it's like a flip book where the polar bear is actually moving toward you! Neat.
Miss your comments on FB, but I get it - it can be addictive. I guess I have my privacy settings so high that I don't get much of anything other than friends' posts. <3

  2. You will of course be un-surprised to hear that your fantasies in the second paragraph have not been realized. I tip my toque to you for not succumbing to the FB temptation.
    ~ 4 - what a lovely train.
    Cheers, Sean
