Celina's new home

Don't panic. She still lives here, still dominates her humans, and still has a great deal to say about the whole situation.

However, the kitty condo we got for Curtis and Celina has seen better days. They moved into it mid-June 2012, here. Which is also a fun rant about revolving doors, elevators, and human stupidity.

It's been in active use for 14 years, and looks it. There's lots of places the carpet is coming off in shreds. At one point we looked at getting it re-carpeted, but were told it was easier and cheaper to just buy another one. It's was Celina's favourite place to be, after the fuzzy blanket substrate arrangement, because it was the sunniest place in the house, and we're convinced she is a solar powered cat.

When a friend's cat passed away, and the other cat in the house moved away with her owner, it left our friend with an unoccupied cat condo taking up space. There were thoughts of fostering cats, but that got complicated, and in the end decided to move to another home. The kitty condo was offered to us, and we decided to see what Celina thinks.

So far, so good.

We still have the old one, and will keep it handy for a couple days in case Celina decides she doesn't like the new one after all. In any case, local buddies with cats who might like a new (to them) kitty condo, are free to express a desire to take one of the the condos off our hands.

This is part of the reason the old kitty condo is in tough shape. Let's just say it served as a place to carry out cat squabbles, though generally they got on very well.

As noted in the previous blog, this rose is still blooming, even after it snowed.
