Flowery Friday 3

A flowery Friday from mid to late May. All tulips, except for a lurking tree peony that recently put out a single lovely blossom. Maybe one of them is an iris, I never really know these things.

Peonies progressing, and more

It just rained, and the garden is beautiful. The peonies are almost there. Here's what they and some other flowers look like this morning. Just because.

1. The white peony looks like it is sending out an exploratory probe.

2. The anticipation is killing us! I'm going to miss seeing the peonies this year. I hope our house sitter captures some images.

4. I hadn't noticed the ant while focussing on the water drops.

The theory, vs possible reality

There we were, all booked up for our trip. There was a brief spasm a week ago when West Jet was having a spat with a union, but they went back to the bargaining table. We were just beginning to relax, until this morning they announced possible strike action. Or a lockout. Depends on which news sources you read.

So at this exact point, we are unsure if our flight is leaving or not, or if the connection in Toronto leaves. It's just a little stressful. Fingers crossed and all.

The important part of the trip is ensuring the demanding cat is properly taken care of while we're gone. One of her favourite humans will be staying here most of the time, so that's good. Not that Celina will appreciate or or show gratitude for the efforts we go to on her behalf.

I'm taking the laptop, but Lightroom no longer runs on it. I am still dithering about buying a replacement photo editing computer. The plan is to blog periodically while gone, maybe with photos. I can copy the SD cards to an external drive, and duplicate them as JPEGs, so a few current photos might show up. However I won't have access to the many existing photos, so the Of the Day feature will be on temporary hold. I'm sure that breaks your hearts, and you will all jump for joy when it returns.

I'm taking a bunch of film, with a careful system in place so I can keep track of when and where the photos were taken, and develop them in time order.

I've got a Flowery Friday, and the June Image of the month cued up ready to go.

A peaceful scene to whet your appetite, because image of the month was taken near here.
