First of all, Happy Canada Day! Out here it's smoking hot, and I don't mean the separatist idiots frying in their own indignation. But that's another blog.
As I mentioned earlier, June was a busy month. Lots and lots of photos. So let's see. The short list for IotM includes:
-5 eagles
-8 peonies (several with ants)
-3 roses
-2 poppies (with a bee)
Sometimes when you get on a roll the hits keep on coming. Now it's dither I mean, decision time.
2nd Runer Up
Not a bird guy, but when they swoop in below you and show off, you can't not take the photo.
1st Runner Up
Peonies and ants go together so well. I wonder if any of them ever get lost in the petals.
Image of the month
It came out just as I hoped. For the curious the film is HP5+.
And a Happy Canada Day to you too and Linda. I really enjoy the eagle image for its composition, technical execution, and the echo of the tail feathers in the wing tips (or visa versa). The ant and peony also works well for me. It might be worth considering a tighter crop as that would emphasize the idea of the ant getting lost in petal world. The IOTM feels like the beginning of an exploration. The graininess of the film and the presentation feels disquieting and I'm not convinced that is the emotion you were going for. This is one of those images where companion images would give me further clues on your direction. Cheers, Sean
