My regular readers will know I'm in love with the warmer end of the spectrum, the yellows, oranges, and golds. Tulips can come in those colours, as do many other things. Here's a sampling, in no particular order.
Surprise serendipity! I was looking for the second photo below, catching the light just right in Fish Creek, when the photo of Curtis popped up as unblogged and thus qualifies as serendipity. It probably has been blogged and I didn't tag it. Still, I don't think I'm going to get any complaints about it.
The remains of some roses from last year. The first bits of red are showing in the buds for this year. Stay tuned for rose photos.
And the tulips!
A break from tulips. I'm not sure what these are, but they grow out of downed trees and just barely qualify as a micro-landscape.
Back to the tulips.
So far all those were in the front or side beds. These are in the back patio, right beside the house, and thus bloom a little later. Last year there were several of this variety in the front beds catching the light and showing off.
This one is in the running for June image of the month.
I wasn't expecting much for a sunset last night, but was pleasantly surprised. Not spectacular the way Calgary sunsets could be, but still the nicest ones in a while. Look for the airliner. Plus, as a nice bonus, my buddy Oksana was out for a walk and stopped to chat. That's one of the nice things about knowing some of your neighbours.
