September Image of the Month

Nearly three quarters of the photos last month were of a private wedding, and thus not in the running for IotM. Kinda of a pity, there's some nice photos there...

Most of the rest are there I was and this is what I saw. Nice photos, but not what I think of as IotM, in the sense of it usually being a starting point for IotY.

2nd Runner Up

Taken just a few days ago, though I can't remember if it was just before or just after a couple of heavy frost nights. I just went and looked for it in the pre-dawn cold, and can't find it. It was -4, and although Linda wrapped some of the flowers, and the roses still seem to be hanging in there, I think flower season is done for this year.

I was kind of intrigued by this sculpture and wandered around it for a while looking for a nice composition that contained some of the metal textures that I liked.

One of the times where I saw the photo, rand for the camera, and it turned out the way I wanted.

A rosy Saturday

A busy morning over at the community hall documenting the senior's garage sale. You can see those photos here, if you want. I was still in the camera mood, so as I was looking out the window I noticed one of the rose blooms was lining up nicely with the golden yellow leaves of my neighbour's tree. There are lots of roses still in bloom, and today is September 25. Here they are for you to enjoy, and I didn't want you to have to wait till a flowery Friday.

A road trip east

I hadn't been on a road trip with Sean for a little while. Today was the day. We've always liked wandering along the Bow River, so today was Carseland Provincial Park and McKinnon Flats. The light was indifferent, and neither place was as interesting as we had hoped. 

I was quite sure I'd been to McKinnon Flats, but it turned out I was thinking Carseland. When we finally got to McKinnon, neither of us remembered being there. Of course, that could be senility striking both of us at the same time. At our advanced ages anything is possible.

1. The day started with an ok sunrise. We haven't seen a spectacular one for a while.

Bee butt for Susi

There I was, paying attention to Celina as she charged her solar batteries. Then I saw some lovely light on a flower and scuttled for the camera. While working on that, a bee showed up. Once I saw these, I of course thought of Susi.
