I sure am glad I scrolled down today and ...Keith!!

I sure am glad I scrolled down today and got to this post.

No doubt in my mind, as I read this page over the course of the last year, I read it as though you were someone planning to race at Ironman. After reading your race report I'd suggest that you did "race" on the day too.

I've been reading your blog for the last year because I've been intrigued to watch what the steps were to get to the start line ready to go for someone doing the same sports but different things than myself. The process was different than mine, sure, but you were doing the things it took to get stronger, fitter and faster. I think you had all the "prerequisites" I suggested were necessary to start training for an Ironman race a year before the day. Starting September 1 2009 you had a pretty good idea of what it was going to take and then you did it, as opposed to being in way over your head right from the start (stunt).Joshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15260298021546690086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3368504086012529655.post-2037773223820399552010-10-12T08:18:03.388-06:002010-10-12T08:18:03.388-06:00I think we have an annual ritual, eh Keith? That was so much fun! :) :)

I like your post -- everyone has different goals, different stories, different reasons. I think Ironman is a great way to celebrate all these differences with complete acceptance.

I know from my own experience, that on race day, I hear shouts of encouragement from ALL competitors. All shapes and sizes. All different abilities. It is a great sport. :) :)Juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05255136788289244187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3368504086012529655.post-48603756666043878972010-10-11T21:52:17.295-06:002010-10-11T21:52:17.295-06:00And, Happy Thanksgiving.

Then I think that two years ago I could not even swim ONE length of the pool. Two weeks before IMC, I crashed my bike, sprained my elbow and couldn't even hold a feather in my hand because it was too much weight to bear. I think we are all amazing for what we did. Goals are personal. No one else should get to decide for us. WE DECIDE. But maybe if we all train really hard, we can cut like 7 hours off our time....Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02565680702903562912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3368504086012529655.post-66491725696729331152010-10-11T07:17:02.455-06:002010-10-11T07:17:02.455-06:00I'll be honest, I didn't spend a lot of ti...I'll be honest, I didn't spend a lot of time analysing my stats from IMC. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that when you finish after 11 pm you'll probably be near the back of the pack. But I had a really fun day out there, so that is all that matters.Runner Leanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05920305723750242672noreply@blogger.com
