Heron 1 to 10

We were out for a walk in Fish Creek today. At first I thought this was a hawk cruising over one of the engineered wetlands. But no, I'm pretty sure it's a heron, though if there is a specific kind of heron, I don't know which.

Normally, as I've said, I'm not much of a bird person, but when they're right there in front of me, what else am I going to do?

Posing nicely for me, as I cursed for not bringing the 70-200 lens.

Then again, it reconsidered that pose. Maybe it's going to have hard words with it's agent about working at lunch time.

And if things look weird from here down, blame Blogger. They're forcing me into a new interface that sucks slough water, and it kept moving photos around.
